Lima: The capital City of Peru with Smashing Micros Transport

Lima is the capital city of Peru and the most promising tourist place in the region. Founded in 1535, the city is the mix of trendy and modern culture along with abundant tourist attractions. A strong fortitude is required to explore the city in its true soul but with an extensive system of transport, it is possible. Public transport service in Lima is the most convenient way of discovering this city which includes more details and more fantasy to your trip. In Lima, Public transport service is managed by the buses, taxis and micros.

Micros are the most frequent mode of transport in Lima as it is commonly used in whole Peru. The word micro uses in Spanish for the abbreviation of minibus while the word micros are used for big vehicles. Although, micros are convenient and cheap mode of transport but because of the private ownership, they are also considered a bit risky. Micros are used in Lima on a large scale and it is evident from the race of it that can be seen in every street of the city. It covers all the major roads and arteries of Lima which demonstrate that micro operates in the whole city.

Micros are considerably fast and speedy mode of transport because of the excessive traffic of passengers. There are not pre-defined routes for micros as they can stop anywhere in the city to pick and drop the passengers though, by law, it is not granted. Ticket purchasing for these micros has become compulsory after 1980s. If you are travelling by micros without a ticket, you will be charged double fare than regular. It happened sometimes that passengers paid a double fare when they don’t define their destination before getting into micros, but it happened only when micros took a passenger from an undefined stop.

The only place where micros are not allowed to stop is downtown Lima where they cannot circulate in the street of crosstown. If you are intended to travel from west to east, you have to hire a taxi as micros are only available to travel in the north side of the downtown. You can also book for Lima airport taxi here for safe and affordable transportation.
Although, Lima is abundant with other modes of transport which can be more convenient and comfortable but I mentioned micros especially as the daily commuters of Lima are frequently using this mode of transport, so it would be useful for a traveler as well to get more information about the city and its transport system if they travel through micros.
